We brought 180 rose petals before class.
I asked our teacher for permission to talk for 5 minutes at the beginning of class about today’s occasion (the birthday of Imam Mahdi (AS)) and its importance.
• At the end of class, with the help of friends, we distributed flowers and Who is Mahdi brochures. The children thanked us when they received the flowers and said that they thought the message was beautiful. We also gave the teacher 2 flowers for himself and his wife.
You can see a souvenir photo with two of the children from the Who is Imam Mahdi campaign who came from Leiden, Netherlands to help me and my wife.
You can see a souvenir photo of me with my Dutch classmates who welcomed today’s event after my previous explanation about Imam Mahdi (AS) and helped distribute flowers and brochures introducing the Imam Mahdi (AS) website.
• Thanks to my teacher for his open mind and permission; Rob de Heus.
The extra flowers were distributed in the hallways and other buildings, among students and some of the university staff.
• It’s interesting to know that the people who were most excited about receiving the flowers were the university staff, and one of them came after us to say that we made his day.
If I were to do this again, I would go to the staff first when distributing flowers in the hallways.
• My professor asked me to send them photos and videos so that he could post about what we did on the university website. He said that in his entire career at the university, he had never seen anyone come to a large class and bring flowers for everyone, and he was very impressed.
• After the class, some of my classmates would message me saying how much they enjoyed the conversation.
• The cost of buying the flowers was donated by the children of the Arbaeen exhibition in the Netherlands, and bringing them to the university and distributing them was also donated by them, may their reward be with the Imam of the Time (peace be upon him).
