Increased Popularity of Iran After the Twelve-Day War with Israel: Fact or Fiction?

What Was the Reason for the Popularity of Iran in the World After the War with Israel and the United States?

Iran’s air defense performance during the Twelve-Day War with Israel became a launching pad for its presence in the hearts and minds of the Western world and the Arab nations, marking a significant increase in the Popularity of Iran in the world. For over forty years, adversaries have orchestrated toxic propaganda against Iran. They attempted to create discord in Iran by manipulating public opinion in the country. They sought to undermine Iran’s relations with the world through two main avenues: focusing on Iran’s relations with the Arab world on the one hand, and damaging its relationships with Western governments and nations on the other.

The enemies had largely succeeded in instilling fear of Iran through various media campaigns. They also had destabilized Iran’s position among Arab communities in the region by inciting their racist sentiments and making them pessimistic about Iran. Simultaneously, at an international level, they attempted to misrepresent Iran’s realities, portraying Iranian people as a terrorist, ambitious, and dangerous nation. Enemy propaganda consistently depicted Iran as a weak country that engages in conflict with the world. They also introduced Iran as a country without any solid ideological or practical foundation, often suggesting that it ends up losing.

Before the Twelve-Day War with Israel, Iran faced numerous domestic and international challenges. Undoubtedly since the Islamic Revolution, Iran has been in opposition to the oppressive, imperialistic policies of the United States and Israel; there is also no doubt that Iran wishes for all the human beings well-being, happiness, peace, justice, and prosperity equally. However, prior to the war with Israel, due to the situation, Iran merely articulated its civilizational goals and visions while threatening those who disrupted the balance of human bliss and preparing to suppress them. After the war, however, the situation changed. Iran seized the opportunity to act on its threats. Now, Iran’s threats are taken seriously around the world. There is a growing belief that a unified front can stand against oppression and overcome it. Today, Iran has gained prestige both in the region and among Islamic communities, as well as on a global scale. The world watched that Zionists, who were very arrogant and had the audacity to violate human rights freely all over the world, are afraid right now and their credibility has been undermined by Iran. Before the eyes of the world, Iran engaged in battle against the forces of evil while Western countries and Arab politicians were supporting Israel. It confronted the global Zionist ideology without fear of media narratives or being alone in the field of battle. The power and wealth of world superpowers did not intimidate it; instead, hand in hand with God, Iran fought against Satan and his forces. Iranians’ incredible acts of courage in this war, backed by profound spiritual conviction, captivated people around the world and provoked them to think deeply about Iran.

It seemed as if human beings’ forgotten dreams were revived, breathing new life into humanity. The world saw Iran as a savior returning human beings to their innate human nature, rekindling trust and love for its long-forgotten Beloved, God. Thus, the world resonated with Iran. As a result, Iran became popular again in the world. Stay with us to explore the events of the Twelve-Day war between Iran and Israel that caused Iran to become popular.

Popularity of Iran in the Real World

On the day that Israel and its godfather, the United States, were designing and executing their project for the destruction and overthrow of Iran in their think tanks through a full-scale war, it never crossed their minds that both Shia and Sunni Muslims in the Arab world, as well as secular and religious individuals in the West, would rally in support of Iran, and they unconsciously were laying groundwork for the increasing Popularity of Iran in the world. The forces of Satan had heavily relied on the sectarian divide between Shia and Sunni, Arab and non-Arab, but they were surprisingly met with widespread support for Iran from many Sunni and Arab individuals. Even Turki Al-Faisal, the Saudi prince known for his anti-Iranian sentiments, explicitly expressed support for Iran following the U.S. attack on the Fordow Plant, stating that in this unjust world, Israel’s Dimona nuclear facility should have been bombed instead of Iran’s nuclear sites. To understand the extent of the Popularity of Iran worldwide, it is important to note that an extraordinary wave of support for Iran emerged in the Arab world after the initiation of Operation True Promise III, and Arabs supported Iran without any hesitation. Scholars from both Sunni and Shia backgrounds openly expressed their support for Iran, considering it the only ally and supporter of the oppressed people of Gaza while most Arab leaders remained silent on Israel’s atrocities against humanity in Gaza.

The solidarity with and support for Iran were not limited to Arab countries and the Resistance Front; rather, massive demonstrations and protests erupted in many countries where their politicians had conspired against Iran. In these gatherings, participants raised flags of Iran and Palestine side by side, chanting heroic slogans in praise of Iran’s victory and strength. Interestingly, during these protests, some people even shouted “Death to Israel” in Persian, as a display of unity with Iran by any means possible. Tens of thousands took to the streets in different European capitals and even in the United States to protest against the aggression of Israel and America toward Iran. Citizens of cities like London, Rotterdam, Geneva, Rome, Paris, Vienna, and many other places around the world participated in anti-war protests sparked by widespread calls from human rights organizations and civil right activists. These protesters initiated such a spontaneous uprising that it was dubbed Europe’s largest grassroots mobilization against war in recent history. While holding flags of Iran and Palestine, they chanted in unison, “Hands off Iran,” and “Stop the war.” One of England’s most significant anti-war movements, known as the “Stop the War Coalition,” issued a statement on behalf of protesters in London asking the UK not to join the US and Israel’s war on Iran. The largest anti-war rally last year took place in Rome, Italy, in support of Iran. In this monumental gathering, protesters holding placards and chanting slogans, called for an end to the war in Gaza and Iran while advocating for social justice, democracy, and peaceful living for both Iran and the world. Supporters of Iran in Vienna, Austria, condemned the U.S. and Israel while holding photos of martyrs of the imposed war waged by Israel against Iran. Human rights activists also gathered in front of the UN in Geneva, Switzerland, demanding respect for the United Nations Charter in support of Iran. Thousands gathered in central Germany despite a highly secure environment and Germany’s explicit support for Israel’s aggression against Iran, protesting against Germany’s backing of this invasion.

Popularity of Iran in the Virtual World

In a situation where internet access to the outside world had been cut off in Iran for security reasons, the popularity of Iran in the world became a significant factor in mobilizing people to seriously support the country. Influencers, YouTubers, bloggers, celebrities, and artists welcomed Iranian missiles with music videos, memes, and clips. Since the Twelve-Day war, Iran has received positive attention from internet users worldwide. Videos and images of Iranian missiles in the sky went viral and became a hot topic among social media users. X, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube overflowed with images of Iranian missiles. The news of many websites and messaging platforms was about the power and glory of Iran and Iranians. The comments on posts related to Iran were often more exciting than the view counts and likes. The positive and enthusiastic comments that accompanied the flags of Iran and users’ countries led one to wonder whether these users belonged to different nationalities, religions, and ethnicities. How could it be that a single country could inspire such love, empathy, and unity among people of all races, languages, and beliefs? The heroic slogans “Hit” and “Just do it!” shows that the hearts of people all around the world are wounded because of the forces of evil. They had no hope that their wounded heart be healed, so, they had come to terms with this situation. However, then, they saw Iran as a skillful healer that could heal their wounds, so asked it to finish the job.

An article published by a group of researchers in Foreign Affairs Magazine explicitly stated that the war between Iran and Israel has clearly increased global support for Iran and resistance movements. The popularity of the U.S., Israel, and their allies in the Middle East declined after October 7, and now their popularity is at its lowest level.

Iran’s actions have so energized people around the world that global artists not only joined public demonstrations but also created social media content in support of Iran. For example, an American-Italian citizen named Lukas Gage, created the song “Boom Boom Tel Aviv.” This song garnered over 500,000 views in less than twenty-four hours and ultimately surpassed one billion views. The Chinese group Innokids also released the popular song titled “Fireworks Over Israel.” These spontaneous movements were not limited to musicians; cartoonists, painters, writers, content creators, and other artists also actively created valuable works to boost the popularity of Iran worldwide. Kamal Sharaf, Luiz Carlos, Vasco Gargalo, Tareq Sakhrawi, Carlos Latuff, Dimitri Georgopoulos, and many others are just some of the artists involved in this movement.

Reasons for the Popularity of Iran Worldwide

Throughout history, people have lived under oppression, experienced inequality and racism, suffered from tyranny, were murdered, and were victims of genocide, and more. However, it seemed they had no choice but to be accustomed to those situations. Nevertheless, their innate human nature suffered under that malevolence, and they were in emotional pain. Yet they did not find a brave, compassionate, and capable savior; thus, they came to accept humiliation. They believed that the world is enslaved by American politicians and Zionist leaders, feeling they must bow before them and become slaves to evil without protest, until the war between Iran and Israel began, presenting the world with a new phenomenon—a fusion of monotheism and power. The world saw a nation that relied on God and had true faith in Him, tirelessly standing against the forces of evil with dignity and mercy. Suddenly, the innate human nature was awakened and came to life. Free people across the globe converged like droplets in a river, joining together in the boundless ocean of Islamic Iran so that this ocean of monotheism and faith could engulf the party of evil just as Pharaoh’s army was swallowed whole. The popularity of Iran in the world is not merely due to political or military issues. Iran became a beacon of hope for people worldwide, a beacon that had previously been extinguished by falsehood. People began to feel that they are useful and they can change the world; they realized they could play a role in shaping a better future and contribute to saving the world. They again trusted in God and boosted their self-confidence. Everyone understood that a new chapter in history had begun and that the earth was about to give birth to something new that would save the soul of the world. The popularity of Iran in the world stemmed from the renewed life it injected into the parched veins of the earth, making it vital again. In other words, a new spirit was breathed into the earth, connecting all the free people of the world in their quest to save the planet. This connection will undoubtedly play a significant role in the final confrontation of the End Times, once and for all determining the fate of the party of evil.
