“Or ˹ask them,˺ “Who responds to the distressed when they cry to Him, relieving ˹their˺ affliction, and ˹Who˺ makes you successors in the earth? Is it another god besides Allah? Yet you are hardly mindful!” (Quran, 27:62)
Ali bin Ahmad narrated from… from Muhammad bin Muslim that Abu Ja’far al-Baqir had said when talking about this verse, ‘Or, Who answers the distressed one when he calls upon Him and removes the evil, and He will make you successors in the earth:’ “This verse has been revealed about al-Qa’im where Gabriel has sat on a drain in a shape of a bird. Gabriel will be the first one, who pays homage to al-Qa’im and then the three hundred and thirteen companions will pay homage. Those (of al-Qa’im’s companions), who are to walk, will arrive in time and those, who are not to walk, will disappear from their beds. It is the saying of Allah, ‘Therefore hasten to (do) good works; wherever you are, Allah will bring you all together.’ The good work is the belief in the guardianship of Ahlul Bayt.” (Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ibraheem bin Ja’far al-Katib. Al-Ghaybat Al-Nomani.)
Tafseer Al-Qummi – Or, One Who Answers the distressed one when he supplicates to Him and He Removes the evil, and He will Make you to be Caliphs of the earth! [27:62]. ‘From Abu Abdullah-asws having said: ‘It was Revealed regarding Al-Qaim-ajfj. By Allah-azwj! Heasws is the awaited one. When he-ajfj prays two Cycles Salat in Al-Maqam (of Ibrahim-as) and supplicated to Allah-azwj, it would be Answered for him-ajfj, and He-azwj will Remove the evil and Make him-ajfj the caliph in the earth’’. (Allama Baqir Al-Majlisi .Bihar Al Anwaar – V 51, The book of History – Imam Al Mahdi-ajfj, Ch 5 H 11)
Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib (PBUH) said: At the extremity of hardship comes relief, and at the tightening of the chains of tribulation comes ease.

“Do you think you will be admitted into Paradise without being tested like those before you? They were afflicted with suffering and adversity and were so ˹violently˺ shaken that ˹even˺ the Messenger and the believers with him cried out, “When will Allah’s help come?” Indeed, Allah’s help is ˹always˺ near.” (Quran, 2:214)
